Pregnancy Rates and Antiretroviral Therapy Access

This study looked at over 4500 women in Sub-Saharan Africa between 2003 and 2007. Analysis showed that use of ART was significantly associated with an increased likelihood of pregnancy in participants. Additionally the longer that the women were on ART the more likely they were to become pregnant. Of those that used contraception, condoms were the most popular, however only 39% reported contraception use.
