New Study Tests Early ARVs in HIV-Infected Infants

The NIH announced that the IMPAACT group will be starting a new clinical trial, IMPAACT P1115, which will look at the administration of HIV ARVs immediately after birth to infected infants can lead to remission of the virus.  This research was prompted by the finding in the Mississippi Baby case.  Lead investigators are Yvonne Bryson, MD from UCLA Medical School and Mattel Children's Hospital and Hotline consultant Ellen Chadwick, MD from Northwestern Medical School and Lurie Children's Hospital.  Read more in the press release here.
