Review of ARV Adherence During and After Pregnancy

Researchers conducted a meta-analysis of studies related to HIV-infected pregnant women. Across socioeconomic strata, only 73.5% of women had ideal adherence to ARVs while pregnant. Reaching ideal levels was even harder postpartum than during pregnancy. Further research is needed to address these barriers to adherence.
