Pregnant Women on Medicaid and ARV Use

In an analysis of Medicaid data, 21% of pregnant HIV-positive women did not have any records of ARV medication dispensing during pregnancy in the period between 2000-2007.  Women who had limited use of health care services were the least likely to have ARV medications.  This illustrates the potential for interventions to reach these women and engage them in care prior to pregnancy for healthy outcomes.
