Mode of Delivery and Infant Respiratory Morbidity

A study examining the risk of infant respiratory morbidity associated with cesarean delivery before labor and rupture of membranes in HIV-infected women found low rates of respiratory distress syndrome. The authors conclude there is minimal neonatal respiratory morbidity risk in near-term infants born by elective c-section in this population of women.
