Desire for Children and Current HIV Treatments

Authors surveyed HIV-positive women in the United Kingdom around desires for children. Overall, 45% of women said knowing they had HIV did not change their fertility intentions. While a third of the women initially did not want additional children after receiving an HIV diagnosis, 41% of those women changed their mind after learning about and initiating treatment. Women were more likely to want children if they were currently partnered and had fewer than 2 children at the time of survey.
