Updated Hotline Guidelines for Infants with Perinatal HIV Exposure
The 24/7 Illinois Perinatal HIV Hotline has released updated Best Practices for the Care of Infants with Perinatal Exposure to HIV. Main updates include:
- Modified criteria for determination of infant risk status
- NVP dosing for ≥32 to <34 weeks’ gestation at birth
- Changes to PCR testing intervals for low and high risk infants and elimination of infant HIV antibody test at 12-18 months
- Addition of a brief section on infant feeding guidance
