Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Perinatal HIV Infection

In an analysis of HIV diagnoses among children from 2004-2007, there were declines in the annual rate of diagnosis of perinatal HIV infection for both black and Hispanic children. However, the rate among black children was 23 times higher than the rate among white children and the rate among Hispanic children was 4 times higher.
