Patient HIV Testing Decision Making and Test Counseling Options

This randomized-controlled study looked at the rates of HIV testing and basic HIV knowledge in groups that received either standard HIV test counseling or abbreviated test counseling during prenatal care. Women that received abbreviated test counseling did not have a different rate of HIV testing than those that received the standard HIV test counseling, however they did show a significantly lower mean HIV knowledge score.
