HIV Screening in US Hospitals

Authors surveyed hospitals across the US and found that over 90% of respondents offered HIV tests for patients, however only 27% screened for HIV, most often in labor and delivery departments. The CDC recommends all individuals ages 13-64 be screened for HIV in a health care setting. Despite being aware of these recommendations, more than half of respondents were not considering implementing these recommendations in the next year.
