Contraception for HIV-Positive Women

Preconceptive care is a vital part of caring for HIV-positive women of childbearing age. Due to the advances in HIV care and the prevention of perinatal transmission, more and more HIV-positive women are desiring to have children. Due to a high rate of unintended pregnancies among this population, providers need to address contraception and conception with their HIV-positive patients. Additionally, there are a number of other concerns and considerations when working with serodiscordant couples. this article summarizes many of them.
